A synthetic growth hormone releasing peptide that mimics ghrelin, used in Japan as a diagnostic agent for growth hormone deficiency.

    Development monograph. Establishes the diagnostic use and the GH peak cut-off of 15.0 mcg/L separating GH-deficient patients from healthy controls. States NO elimination half-life, which is why halfLifeHours is null here.

    Subcutaneous infusion of 1 mcg/kg/h for 270 min in 7 lean healthy men increased ad libitum food intake. Establishes the appetite effect in humans; measures response, not peptide clearance.
